Improved acid sulfate soils and decreased discharge of acid sulfate affected water into the Manning River estuary at Mamboo Island in 2009 as a part of the Bring Back The Fish project. The 3 floodgates were replacements, with new floodgates with raised invert level set at 0.5 AHD in Autumn 2009.
