Pemberton Street Wetlands, Parramatta, contained an area adjacent to salt marsh that was highly degraded and infested with invasive grasses. This presented a threat to existing salt marsh and nursery habitat for juvenile fish. Invasive grasses were treated with herbicide, sediments removed, and salt marsh was re-established over an area of 500 m2. A native grass buffer was also introduced around the fringe of the newly established salt marsh. Completed in 2010.
