Re-snagging waterways: More homes for fish, Molong Creek

Google Map

Molong Creek is located near Molong in the Macquarie Range. The creek suffered from poor riparian vegetation, erosion, sedimentation and limited instream woody debris, resulting in poor fish habitat and a uniformly shallow creek. Fifteen large, hollow-bearing logs were introduced into a 800 metre section of Molong Creek to create complex instream habitat for native fish and other aquatic species. Completed in 2006.
